Writing has been something that has been in my heart for a long time. Over the years, I have often desired to do something in my work that involved writing. As a kid I loved telling stories and loved expressing myself through written word and acting. I guess you could say that there has always been a part of me that loved performing and better yet, loved connecting with others.
Fast forward to my adulthood. Life got busy, kids came, and I started working on my degree in Exercise Science. While yes, my degree required some writing, it was usually in the form of formalized papers that focused on research. I jumped at the opportunity to take any sort of creative writing class available to me. Growing up and even now, writing has been a way for me to process life’s adventures and obstacles. It has given me a safe outlet to let my thoughts and emotions pour out without fear of judgment. Writing has been a form of therapy that has come much cheaper than sitting in a therapist’s office hashing out painful details.
Ultimately this blog signals a beginning step in pursuing a lifelong dream of mine to inspire, challenge, and help others live their happiest and most fulfilling life possible. We only get one shot at this life. Might as well make it a good one.
