This past Sunday marked my first 30 days of P90x3. I did my pics and took my measurements (sans my weight, but that is a conversation for another day). I am already down about 3 inches…that’s great and all and I DO see the results. But if I am being completely honest, I was expecting a little more. However, I didn’t earn more. I have followed my nutrition pretty closely, but have definitely had a few days that I went a little crazy on sweets and treats. I know there were also other days that I wasn’t paying attention to my portion sizes as closely as I could have been. So before I threw out the program and said it doesn’t work and isn’t delivering the results I saw on TV, I had to ask myself some tough questions.
Could I have pushed harder in my workouts? Could I have watched my nutrition a little better? And what can I do for the next 30 days?
I have pretty much given up ever *loving* my ab area. Even at a crazy 9% body fat for figure competitions, I still struggled with how my skin and stomach looked. However, I do have some hopes and some expectations with this program. I have already seen my mid section change so much since changing the way I train my core, so I am hoping that the momentum will just continue. That will only happen if I get a little more serious about my efforts and my goals.
We are pretty quick to throw in the towel and point the blame anywhere, but ourselves when things don’t work out how we expected. This is not only a dangerous game to play, but it is downright immature and lazy. If I want something different, I have to be willing to do something different. And if I don’t do that something different then I cannot be mad at the results I didn’t get with the work I didn’t do. It really is that simple.
What about you? Where are you quick to throw in the towel or point the blame?
On a much lighter note, here is my favorite recipe from last week:
Mexican Mocha

1 scoop chocolate Shakeology (you can use what you have on hand, but if you’re curious how it stacks up lets chat)
6 ounces cold coffee
4 ounces almond milk or regular milk
dash of cinnamon
a much smaller dash of cayenne pepper
3-4 ice cubes
Add it all to a blender and blend until smooth.
I’ll try out the recipe with cocoa instead, I do like coffee but it’s a migraine trigger for me 😥

Oh yeah, then you def want to avoid that! I’m sorry to hear that, not being able to drink coffee for me would be very hard!
