So can you really have it all? Yes, but I believe you are going to have to work for it. Just like anything else that is important to you in life. Part of living a healthy life includes stress management. A lot of my past demons were rooted in unhealthy ways of managing my stress. Whether it was emotional eating or a few too many happy hours they all took their toll. And after I had downed an entire bag of potato chips or the buzz wore off I still had the same issues. This is why I am a huge advocate for building a portfolio of stress management techniques (yes, that includes exercise!) as well as meditation, journaling, and a great deal of other tools.

Likewise, while we are working on our physical transformations, we’ve got to also be working on the internal ones. You could lose hundreds of pounds, but if you still see yourself as unworthy, unlovable, or any other adjective you might have used to describe yourself in the past the weight loss will NOT matter.

Getting started or continuing on with your fitness journey takes focus and discipline. As doom and gloom as they may sound, once you get a system in place that works for YOU, it can actually be kind of fun!
